5th Grade's Halloween Project!

The past 2 weeks, 5th grade has been learning how to add and subtract decimals. For their project, they were required to come up with their own 2 step word problem based on 2 candy advertisements.

Google Classroom

Dear Parents and Students, 
  
This letter is to help you be able to access my blog and google classroom.  
In order to access the junior high math blog, you must : 
  1. Gain access to www.visitationacademy.net 
  1. On the upper bar, click the tab Curriculum. 
  1. On this drop-down menu, select Teachers' Pages. 
  1. Click Math (Grades 5-8). 
  1. My blog will now appear, please click the page that corresponds to your daughter's class. 
In order to access my google classroom, you must first have a google account by clicking create an account. Once the account has been made, you can follow these steps : 
  1. Log into your google account (gmail account). 
  1. Click on the grid next to images on the upper right corner. 
  1. A drop-down menu should appear, scroll down and select Classroom. 
  1. On the upper right corner, you should see the plus sign (+). 
  1. Click the plus sign (+) and press Join Class. 
  1. You will now be asked to type in the code. Each grade has a different code, please make sure you type in the code corresponding to the grade level. (Please note this code is ONLY for the math google classrooms, not for other subjects. Each subject and grade will have different codes.) 
  1. 5th grade – d07m58e 
  1. 6th grade – eassv9v 
  1. 7th grade – afefzbr 
  2. 8th grade - g58psu5

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

         My name is Briana Kagan and I will be your daughter's math teacher for this school year. Mathematics is my passion; I am committed to helping each one of my students develop a love, respect and appreciation for mathematical concepts.  Math is not only an important school subject, but more particularly an important subject for life. Therefore, I will ensure that I present math practically and with application to real world situations. I am always available to my students for extra help.  
      Please feel free to use my website which will give you information about this class.  I have added helpful resources for your daughter to use in order to provide addition support in math. You can also contact me by email or phone if that is more convenient. My goal is to provide your child with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that she needs to be successful this school year. I am looking forward to working with you and your daughter this school year. Let’s work together to ensure that math/success are synonymous.
